Bla bla bla
Quick reminder.
Some stakeholders though the qualification format in use during season 2015 F1 wasn't exciting enough for the show and for the fans.
Between Barcelona pre-season testing and the first race in Melbourne the qualification format got changed to this new system where the last car is out after a specified time; anyway to make it simple check the new rules there way more than what you need on Internet about it. Just think about it as musical chairs with pole position being the last chair left at the end of the schmilblik.
My Opinion
Going back and forth, discussing, criticizing won't help or improve anything.
Everyone now is talking in behalf of fans.
Even fans are talking on their behalf.
There is so much non sense all over the place. My article is not a non sense.
Here's why:
Who cared about qualification style right before Ted-Bull Racing era and even during that era?
Every one has a role to play:
- F1 Drivers have to drive their unique exploitable prototype the fastest they can.
- F1 teams have to make sure they deliver a fast car and all the logistic and strategy to get their drivers on the top spot.
- F1 Management has to provide a show, period!! ( I never said they shouldn't spend their time arguing and finding common ground with all F1 stakeholders - - even if I think so)
- FIA's Job to make sure that quali go on according to the set of rules and safety aspect.
- Fans have to either attends races if they can afford tondo so, or watch them on TV, or even go lobbying to get subscription lowered for those who watch through paid Chanel's.
- Journalists, ... Boy oh boy, their job is to relate what happens on track, maybe backstage as well, but not to voice their opinion, mislead TV viewers opinion on specific drivers... This are probably the most heard voices and they'd are the one relaying a bad image of F1. I'm so going to get smashed for saying this, but I'm not looking for fame, not being paid for this, so I might as well just say the truth. We might talk about journalists influence on F1 even during races in another article - or maybe not- but this is so wrong!!!!
Conclusion
This whole bogson ( French expression) is due to everyone being able to voice his opinion nowadays.
When we attend a football game ( soccer) It doesn't matter if none of the team does not score a single goal for 90 minutes. It doesn't matter if they play poorly. Fan will be disappointed of course, sponsors will be, players will be, even Television broadcasters will be. But FIFA or UEFA don't go changing rules by making wider goal posts, a lighter or heavier foot ball, a shorter goal keeper or whatever people could think about.
Nope, none of this happens. We just stick with it and wait for a better game.
So that's what in taking about. FOM should organize the show the way they want it, FIA makes sure the rules are there and things are doable or realistic and that's it. None else involved. The others are smart enough to make it a good show with whatever is thrown at them.
Too much confusion for zero fusion and less exposition.
